Ans. Incomplete dominance: Incomplete dominance is the phenomenon where none of the two contrasting genes or alleles dominant and the expression
of the character in a Fi hybrid individual
is intermediate type.
In the snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus)
and the four O'clock plant (Mirabilis jalapa), a cross between varieties with
red and white flowers produces Fi
progeny with all pink flowers.
This intermediate inheritance is called incomplete dominance. The Fi when
selfed gives F2 progenies which are red,
pink and white in the ratio of 1:2:1.
The pink is, therefore, heterozygous phenotype.
