Mahatma Gandhi was born at Porbander in Kathiawar on Oct. 2,1869.
His full name was Mohandas Karamchand
Gandhi.
He was the Father of Nation, an incarnation of God, a symbol of truth, goodness and Virtue.
From the very childhood Mahatma Gandhi like Lord Krishna, was obedient to his parents.
He took a great care of his father as he was often sick. He loved his mother
very much.
He followed their orders to the letter and
never disobeyed them. Hence his parents loved him very much.
In his school-life Gandhiji never told a lie or showed dishonesty. He was a regular and hard working student.
His teachers loved him much.
He passed his Matriculation Examination in India. He took the Degree of Bar-at-Law
in England.
He started his practice in India but gave it up at the call of Mother India. He took the responsibility of liberating Mother India on his shoulders.
Gandhiji fought the English Government with the weapons of truth and non violence.
He started thenNon-co-operation Movement in 1921.
Thousands of Indians followed him. He led several struggles for freedom of India.
Thus India got freedom on the 15th August, 1947.
He was shot dead on the 30th January 1948 at Delhi in a prayer meeting.
His death was mourned all over the world.
Mahatma Gandhi was the greatest leader of India.
He led us to freedom. He was a great saint, and a unique creation of God.
He was a reformer, a deep thinker, a
statesman and a great fighter. We should follow his teachings.
