Ans. Scientific name of the pathogen causing amoebiasis is Entamoeba histolytica. Its infective state is Cyst. Amoebiasis is called Amoebioc dysentry.

Symptoms: ---  (a) Mild diarrhoea alternating with constipation.

(b) Mucus is usually present in the stool.

(c) Constipation. 

(d) Pain in abdomen and cramps.

(e) Stool with excess of blood clots.
